WALNUT CREEK — November 4, 2026. Two city ballot questions show early Yes majorities in Walnut Creek, according to preliminary reporting from Contra Costa County. Measure T asks about appointing the city treasurer and shows 12,987 Yes votes (59.9%), compared with 8,684 No (40.0%).

A separate zoning question

Measure U, described as a zoning-limit measure, has 15,625 Yes votes (71.1%) and 6,347 No (28.8%). These are two independent proposals. Voters may have different opinions on city treasurer selection and zoning regulations; their ballots must not be combined or characterized as one decision.

What happens to the measures?

The tracker identifies both questions as majority-vote measures, but the posted percentages are not yet a certified outcome. Residents who want to know the precise legal changes should consult the text of Measures T and U and future official county reports.

The figures reflect a county tally updated around 12:52 a.m. November 4. Additional eligible ballots could change the percentages, and the county election office—not an election-night headline—will establish the official results.
